Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to our most common questions about RocketFFL
Which RocketFFL course do I need?
If you only want a basic FFL, start with our Get Your FFL course. If you plan to deal in suppressors or other NFA firearms like machine guns and short barreled rifles, add our Become an SOT course. You can bundle both courses and save $30.
Can I just hire Ryan to do this for me?
Yes. However, it doesn’t make sense for most people to hire Ryan as their attorney to walk them through the process one-on-one (that’s why he made these courses).
If you’d like to explore hiring Ryan personally, you can book an initial consultation at $650/hr. Packages start at $5k annually.
How do I access my RocketFFL course?
Sign in to your courses on our Student Sign In page.
If your password doesn’t work, click “Forgot Password?” to reset it. When we moved to our current course system, passwords couldn’t be carried over, so you may need to reset yours once.
If neither of these helps, email us at support@rocketffl.com or use the form below.
How long does it take to get an FFL?
Once you submit your application, it will take 2 months for the ATF approval. For the full timeline, see How Long Does It Take to Get an FFL?
How much does an FFL cost?
It depends on the license type. A Type 01 dealer’s and gunsmith’s FFL is $200 for the first 3 years and $90 for each 3-year renewal. A manufacturer’s FFL is $150 for the first 3 years. Becoming an SOT is, in most instances, $500 per year.
To learn more, see FFL License Cost.
Can I get an FFL from home?
Many FFLs are home-based. Whether it works for you depends on your business intent, local rules, and the type of activity you plan to conduct. To learn more, see How to Get a Home Based FFL.
What if I’m not happy with my course?
Every RocketFFL course is backed by our 100% money-back guarantee. See our Terms of Service for the details, including the 60-day window and how to request a refund.
